I just had to include these pretties somewhere. Not that romance has to be so pink, I like a dark masculine romantic style too. These will keep me inspired as I tackle my mirror project this weekend.
I love pink and green together, nature just does it best, so fresh and pretty. A gorgeous photo of my favourite flower via A Rosy Note, on right a detail by Phoebe Howard.
Isn't this the prettiest shoe storage you have ever seen? Would be so pretty in a dressing room, of course you would need to have lots of pretty shoes and somewhere to hide the not so lovely ones. Detail from Style Me Pretty.
A fabulous centrepiece with simple flowers and spray painted tins in bronzes and copper tones. I am collecting tins for my own experiment. (This was via Shelterness but the link appears to have disappeared.)
This eclectic gallery (left) was pinned by my sister, it probably reminds us both of our mom who makes wonderful crazy arrangements like this all over her home. Loving the mix of distressed mirror and that incredible geometric dresser (via Home Polish on right). If you know where that dresser is from let me know, its incredible and I would love to know more about it.
Have a lovely weekend.
Piet Oudolf inspiration again
I am a huge fan of Piet Oudolf's gardens, wild and textured and colourful. In the nursery today I spotted a beautiful Lomandra Lime wave grass and it reminded me of this Piet Oudolf picture below.

I will have the gorgeous crocus towards the front (center above) and the Sedum Autumn Harvest (above right) coming up every now and then. It could work! I am itching to get to the nursery and get planting!! Its so lovely to have a garden again!

Photo via Flickr, if anybody knows the original source let me know
I have already planted these exact salvias (Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' which I managed to source from Lambley Nursery) but the Sesleria grass I have seen in Sydney has been a little drier and browner. I like the zestiness of this green, I don't want brown. The Lime wave (bottom left) may be a great solution. Plus it is hardy enough to survive the plant love of Little Miss J, as well as being an Aussie native and very drought tolerant. Tick tick tick - this is the one!I will have the gorgeous crocus towards the front (center above) and the Sedum Autumn Harvest (above right) coming up every now and then. It could work! I am itching to get to the nursery and get planting!! Its so lovely to have a garden again!

designer inspiration.....jessica helgerson
Jessica Helgerson kept popping up. I'm sure its happened to you too, you love a whole lot of images and realise later they are all by the same person. I love that her designs look lux, but not precious, layered without to much polish. And of all her images I love, these ones of her holiday home Tiny House are my favourite. This is my dream retreat.
A few favourite things, its tiny - one room across and only a few rooms long - but it looks full of space.
It cost less than $400k to build - wow! It has a green roof (moss & ferns) - high on my dream list.
It has a loft bedroom - dibs on that! - and built in bunks.
It has a library - no computers or tv in sight!

Its white, its bright, its simple, its perfect. I want one...

Piet Oudolf - master of texture garden grass design
Piet Oudolf is the master of soft textured block planting. Love the tonal blend through the flower heads and into the grasses - an edited meadowscape.
Our house is very square and very black. I need the landscape to soften up all the hard lines but still deliver colour, texture and drama. I have the main structure, a backdrop of lilly pilly hedge, a row of gorgeous pear trees for height, seasonal colour and privacy. I want the beds under the plum trees to be fat with grassy textures, with wild looking flowers adding seasonal colour.
I need to bring the garden close to the house and blur the edges.

Don't you love......a little bit of sunshine
After a glorious sunny week its turned cold and grey again, perhaps thats why these hints of yellow are catching my eye today. A bit of sunshine is good for the soul.

Is that another modern crochet blanket? Nothing granny about that design.

Designer inspiration.....leibowitz and mclachlan
Leibowitz and Mclachlan design have been featured before, but I am never tired of these images.
I love the effortless mood they create. Beautiful pieces, worn & antique, new and found, groupings of lovely objects. Neither to much or to little.

I think I could live here and it would always look this good, not just when the stylist has been.
That's what I want to create, a real space that lives as beautifully and effortlessly as it looks.

Living rooms with black gallery walls
Its been really wet for ten days and we have been inside much more than usual,
which makes me look at the furniture more than usual, which ofcourse is a prelude
to moving the furniture around. I just can't seem to get this space feeling right.
We have a black wall so I am taking these stunners as inspiration.
I like the way the gold or gilt of the frames warms the black up

Hexagon tile love
I have become a little obsessed with these little beauties.
And I am also loving the subway tiles they are often paired with.
Love how they add texture to the white on white designs.

The heart of the home
Natural textures of marble and wood, the contrast of black and white, a huge kitchen island for cooking and chatting, storage storage and more storage, funky barstools, I want it all.
This is where the family will live, this is the heart of the home.

Bathroom perfection
Could this bathroom be more perfect?
Love the curve on the mirror, love the luxurious sheets of marble on the wall,
love the grey washed joinery, and those floor tiles are magnificent.
