Though this blog is dedicated to writings pertaining to all things lovely, I must put a little post in here about our new dog. We got "Hank" last night and my boys (that includes the husband) are in doggy heaven! Hank is a brindle boxer and just 9 weeks old. We are guessing he will grow up very fast, he will either do that or go crazy. (think 3 year old and 1 year old boys) I like him very well so far, what I am not liking is the tremendous enthusiasm that my eldest boy (no, not my husband) has for this dog. He is currently dragging him out of his kennel, saying "But he wants to get out!. Hmm, last I recall the dog was sound asleep. Ahhh, isn't life fun!

Tonight my man finished putting board and batten up in the bathroom! Oooh, I just noticed my paintbrush sneaking around the corner, trying to make a dive into the paint can, his little bristles itching to start. Alas, it is not to be. It's Saturday night,the boys are in the bath, pork loin in the oven for tomorrow, no time for that itchy paintbrush. I can't wait to get pictures of it up once it's all painted though. Visit me sometime later this week to see the finished look!

I just found the best thing!! I was scrolling through yet another blog while delaying the changing of another smelly diaper, when I came across this dream blog. The title of it is Blogging Secrets...Shhhhhh from Between Naps on the Porch. It was exactly what I have been looking for. So for any of you new bloggers out there that might stumble upon this post, then go stumble upon her post. It will open your eyes to blogging miracles!

Thankfully Gods mercies are new every morning, so every day is a clean slate, but I always like the idea of starting over fresh each year. I was actually just over at www.younghouselove.com and they had a great post on new years "resolutions". By the way, if you haven't checked out their blog then please do so. They are from my hometown of Richmond, VA and it's so great to read stuff about local places that I used to know. Great place!
Anyway, I started thinking about my plans for the year. Sheew, I kinda got a little worn out, but the good thing is that I LOVE being busy around the house. I love having projects and things to do. So a few of my "home based" projects are these..
1. Finish the boys bathroom (this is more like a January goal)
2. Repaint our bedroom and get some new pillows for the bed
3. Put some bead board up on one wall in our bathroom
4. Get shelves and all that good stuff for our "built-in" in our family room
5. Clean up the shed in the backyard to make into a pool house (have some ideas for this so stay tuned...)
6. Paint my kitchen cabinets with paint from Caromal Colours!!! This I will blog about in much detail since I know many are interested in the outcome.
7. Repaint and put board and batten in boys room. Yikes, poor little boy gets so excited when I pound a nail into the wall to hang a hat on. I think he'll love what I plan on doing to his room!
8. Relax, enjoy our backyard and my kids and husband!
