Have a great weekend
We had a low-key Halloween around these parts. With the disruption of the stair reno, we really didn't give Halloween much thought - we carved pumpkins after a quick dinner and I thought up this costume for Hannah on my way home from work. Her uncle gave her this track suit for her birthday; I just shortened one of our run medals and drew up a quick bib. Hannah's favourite activity is running around the giant chimney that divides our main floor, so the marathoner costume seemed appropriate ;)
Hannah helped us hand out candy to all nine trick-or-treaters who rang our bell. Apparently all the kids in our neighbourhood head to the subdivision a few streets away. After Hannah went to bed, I roasted pumpkin seeds and Adam and I caught up on The Walking Dead. I followed this recipe and it resulted in the best pumpkin seeds I've ever made.
Happy weekend! xo
Psst! Check out a super cute picture of Hannah's first Halloween here.

Easy Halloween DIYs
Halloween isn't my favourite holiday (that would be Christmas). Costumes make me slightly uncomfortable and scary movies give me nightmares, but the candy and pumpkins I can get behind. Plus, Hannah seems to have renewed my interest in all holidays. In that spirit, these are some of my favourite Halloween DIYs from around the web - and they're easy, too.
1. Waterproof outdoor paper lanterns via sugar and cloth. These would be a sweet way to light your walkway for trick-or-treaters. I think I may try my hand at them this weekend.
2. Halloween balloons via pinterest. More cute than spooky, but how great would these look lined up behind the snack table at your Halloween bash? If you don't want to bother with helium, you could always hang them from the ceiling.
3. Confetti-dipped pumpkins via studio diy. If my mantle was a little deeper, I'd make a bunch of these in different sizes and colours. They'd look so great lined up against the white brick.
4. Crow's blood champagne via evite (spotted on the sweetest occasion). How did I miss Halloween-themed cocktails? This would be easy to make and I already own the goblets. Also, I'm kind of obsessed with the little crows now. Where do I get one?
Halloween, I think I've misjudged you.

Happy Halloween!
I'm looking forward to a day of pumpkin carving, candy and scary movies (it's the one day a year I'll watch anything scary). And how cute is Hannah in her little pumpkin costume?! Happy Halloween!

Free Halloween Font - Evilz
Although it seems ridiculously early to post Halloween stuff, when it comes to DIY projects it I think the earlier the better. This is a little bit of a recycled post from last year but it's too cute not to share year after year. Download this free font - EVILZ. I used the font last year to make some cute bags for Oscar's friends (shown below). Ps., Instead of candy we filled the fun little bags with toy bats.
Also, Jennifer blogged about a free template you can download to do a similar project. Super cute.
